A TALE OF TWO CITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Finally, I get to write my first article on this blog after 48 years (no, just more than a year when I made this blog). I have been looking for an interesting first topic or at least something that is related to properties only in the Philippines or something that highlights it.

I was  recently tagged on Facebook about cosmopolitan cities abroad where people can retire. Next, I found another article that talks about unexpected cities where retirees can spend retirement too and one of the Philippine cities is included again!

Two cities from the Philippines were highlighted on separate articles in Investopedia:

1) Cebu City - Known as the oldest city in the Philippines, Cebu is also called the Queen City of the South perhaps because the island sits at the heart of the country surrounded by the Philippines' other islands. Apart from that, Investopedia included this city as one of the ten (10) cosmopolitan cities that a retiree can settle down without letting go of the hustle & bustle (that he or she is probably used to) of a city life. One can still enjoy the pristine beaches and verdant mountainside while or after doing some business nearby with all the traditional modern comforts. Aid for health with accessibility to state of the art facilities can be taken advantage of at an affordable price. Considered as one of the developed cities in the country, Cebu has been considered also as second to Manila in terms of commerce, trade, industry and education.

2) Tagaytay City - This city sits in the mountainous region of Luzon and is known for its cold  climate and great scenery - The Lake Taal where the Taal Volcano also sits at the center. As one of the Philippines' developed cities in the region outside Manila, Tagaytay also gives you a feel of countryside living and it's just a few hours drive from the Philippines' capital. It also boasts of other leisure activities such as horseback riding and a cable car ride.

For now, consider the Philippines lucky to have cities chosen as livable for retirees and other yuppies!
